La Marche de la Paix > Czech and Slovak Garden of Peace, 2019

Next to the Nécropole nationale of Neuville-Saint-Vaast and the Monument des Fraternisations, a path naturally guides your steps towards the woodlands which adjoin the national necropolis of the Targette. By a path with a curved and bucolic line, your thoughts wander under the many lime trees that punctuate the route. In the shade of these emblematic trees of the Czech and Slovak nations, benches are installed to offer you contemplative breaths. In this very particular atmosphere, playing on the shady effects of the subjects and the shimmering reflections of the foliage, you will then perceive between shadows and lights the enveloping lightness of an ornamental strip of herbs. At the end of the Garden of Peace, under a couple of lime trees, the path disappears, and your gaze naturally goes towards the surrounding landscape, an open and green landscape. It is La Marche de la Paix which finds its culmination here, a promise towards a peaceful future.
