In partnership with the Rectorats of the Academies of Lille and Amiens, the association is working with the services of the Hauts-de-France Region to create vegetable and educational gardens in high schools to make young people aware of feed issues and of ” healthy eating ”, short food chains and the societal challenges of tomorrow linked to climate change.
The first experiments will be launched in five establishments in the five departments of the Region, with a first harvest of productions expected in spring 2021: Lycées publics in Chauny (Aisne), Louis Pasteur high school in Lille (Nord), Cassini high school in Clermont (Oise), Cité Scolaire Pierre de Coubertin in Calais (Pas-de-Calais) and Cité Scolaire Delambre-Montaigne in Amiens (Somme).
Supervised by teachers and landscapers, high school students will participate in all phases from the design to the harvest of these vegetable gardens, designed according to the principles of sustainable agriculture on the model of permaculture. The crops should be used in canteens and refectories.
